Wow! Our first week in Year 1 was fantastic – well done everyone for your hard work. Here is some information about homework and reading:

Homework is set on a Friday and should be returned on the following Wednesday.

Reading books are sent home on a Friday and should also be returned on a Wednesday.

In Year 1 there is lots of reading to do at home and it will be important that children read every day to an adult for at least ten minutes. There may be occasions where your child will receive some additional words that they need extra practise with.

Congratulations to Row 4, who have won an enormous amount of Dojo points this week for their efforts!

Your Staff are:

Mrs Stamper – Class Teacher

Miss Burnikle  – Teaching Assistant

Maths: Number bonds within ten

Literacy:

Capital Letters and full stops: Remember sentences should always start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.

Now that you have practiced your capital letters and full stops use the pictures to write your own sentences about being at home.

Comprehension: Understanding Words

PSHE: This week we have been thinking about ourselves and how to describe feelings. If you are at home you might be having lots of different feelings. Why not use our feelings wheel to draw them and then use the skills we have learnt to do, to make yourself feel better (listen to music, breathing, talking to someone, relaxing and exercising.)

Science

We will be learning about our bodies in science and labeling all the different parts.

Welcome back everyone, it’s wonderful to see you all back in school.  Here are some of the things that we are doing this week in our learning.
