Farringdon Well Being

At Farringdon Academy we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community(children, staff, parents and carers) and recognise how important mental health and wellbeing is in our lives in just the same way as physical health.

With the change in the national agenda to promote good mental health in school, we ensure that emotional wellbeing is a focus for our work in school.   We successfully achieved our Bronze Status on 1st April 2019 and we are working hard towards achieving our Silver status this year.

Farringdon Mental Health Champion: Mrs L Clarke

Mental Health and Wellbeing Link Governor:

There are lots of exciting developments in school to support the mental health and wellbeing of our children this year.  After successfully achieving Mental Health Funding we are proud to announce the opening of our Nurture and Thrive Room.   The building offers a warm, inviting space for children to work in small nurture groups, Relax Kids groups and work one to one with staff focusing on individual wellbeing needs.   The room also acts as a community hub where we hope to welcome parents and professionals such as community Police Officers and nurses to support our children and families.

We are currently training our Children as Mental Health Champions with the support of One Goal, once the children have completed their training we will have five champions in every class who will be able to recognise the Mental Health of themselves and others.
