Wellbeing
At Farringdon Academy we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community(children, staff, parents and carers) and recognise how important mental health and wellbeing is in our lives in just the same way as physical health.

We have worked hard for many years now to promote good mental health in school, and ensure that emotional wellbeing is a focus for our work in school. We successfully achieved our Gold Mental Health Charter Status in summer 2025, having worked through the bronze and silver charter marks since 2018.

There are lots of initiatives in school to support the mental health and wellbeing of our children such as:
- Breakfast sponsored by Gentoo and Greggs
- Early opening to all pupils- range of wellbeing and learning activities and tasks
- Calming corners in every class
- Relax sessions
- Nurture provision and Friday Feelings sessions.
After successfully achieving Mental Health Funding we were proud to announce the opening of our Nurture Room. The building offers a warm, inviting space for children to work in small nurture groups, Relax Kids groups and work one to one with staff focusing on individual wellbeing needs. The room also acts as a community hub where we hope to welcome parents and professionals such as community Police Officers and nurses to support our children and families.

We also have a Well Being room in school for both staff and pupils. This provides a cosy space where one to one sessions with children and parents can be held, ensuring that problems can be shared and discussed comfortably.
We have previously trained children as Mental Health Champions. We are currently re- training more of our Children as Mental Health Champions with the support of One Goal. Once the children have completed their training we will have five champions in every class who will be able to recognise the Mental Health of themselves and others.
